Lead Hardware Engineer (Full Time)

Piper Companies is currently seeking a candidate for a Lead Hardware Engineer position in Jessup, MD. This candidates will design and develop hardware for new products, take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the hardware, and provide leadership and guidance to junior design engineers. Previous team lead experience is required. There is some remote flexibility down the road, but at this time we cannot consider 100 remote candidates - engineers will need to be in-office for the first few weeks of training. Responsibilities of the Hardware Engineer
Design and develop hardware for new products.
Take responsibility for the design and overall quality of the hardware.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior design engineers.
Document design specifications and implementation details.
Lead design reviews.
Collaborate with other team members (hardware, software, electronic technician engineers) to agree on system designs, interfaces, and protocols.
Develop test procedures and hardware.
Provide support for hardware and manage component obsolescence through its life cycle. Qualifications of the Hardware Engineer
Required o Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering o Excellent knowledge of analog and digital electronic circuit design o PCB layout expertise, with consideration for EMI high-speed signals RF o Basic CC+
skills to assist with early hardware bring-up and testing o Management or team lead experience o Strong interpersonal skills o Excellent technical writing skills o 10
years of experience
Preferred o PMP certification or project management exposure o Experience in electronics manufacturing or power electronics industries o Lead product development exposure o Experience interfacing with an Agile software team Compensation for the Hardware Engineer
Salary 130k-145kyear
