Primary Purpose:
The Cyber Field Support Engineer will perform computer network exploitation development, embedded reverse engineering, field engineer support, vulnerability research, and applications development for software and embedded systems with a focus on OCO (Offensive Cyber Operations) and DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) activities.
Additionally, this position offers the unique opportunity to support the development and instruction for a mission-specific and competency-based training program and curriculum for a national security customer.
The candidate will not only assist with the support of the design and development of training initiatives but will serve as instructor for teaching customer-specific applications and tools as well as technical components specific to the cyber domain as needed.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on technical analysis and execute engineering studies/initiatives to make products or recommendations for improvement across the solutions problem space Work in a dynamic environment addressing cutting-edge wireless and wired networking challenges and be able to approach new problems where a solution does not already exist Apply and substantiate engineering judgment and make recommendations on Sponsors development concepts and products Assists in assessing readiness for cyberspace forces for conducting cyberspace operations Provide Field Engineering Support Develop standard operating procedures and best practices in support of training current and new capabilities associated with customers CONOPS Develop and provide technical product training to customers Serve as technical support on all equipment and procedures associated with customers CONOPS Provide guidance to intelligence analysts for all aspects of information gathering to include national level analysis, technical exploitation, collection, general research, threat assessments and intelligence product production Additional Duties and
Responsibilities:
Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and Compliance policies Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures Perform other duties as required Consistent and reliable attendance required If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level required to perform the duties of the position Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions.
Work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Skills and Knowledge:
Possess a CompTIA Security certification (Or comparable DoD 8570 IAM Level 2 certification) and willing to obtain a CISSP certification to meet DoD 8570 IAM Level 3 requirement Experience as a course developer/trainer in a related discipline.
Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; familiarity with various instructional tools including web-based, classroom, and video-teleconferencing.
Preferred experience with systems supporting wireless protocols (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, WiMax, GPRS, Rel 99, HSPA, HSDPA, and WiFi) is required.
Experience with tools and test equipment used to triage, repair, and modify wireless and cyber equipment hardware.
Strong flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment with frequently changing opportunities Good oral and written communication skills to include experience creating customer presentations.
Team player and work well with other contractors and vendor partners under adverse conditions.
Trouble-shooting technical skills and be able to clearly articulate issues to design engineers; capturing troubles and writing trouble reports is required.
Ability to work under minimal supervision in a small team environment and work with project leads, managers and external suppliers to ensure project deliverables are consistently met on schedule.
Decisive, yet able to recognize the need to seek out counsel from peers and leadership for critical decisions.
Familiarity with all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, firewall and IPS/ IDS, utilizing vendor provided managed services when necessary.
Knowledge of transport protocols, routing protocols, DNS, subnetting, encryption technologies and standards, VPNs, VLANs, and VoIP at all layers of the OSI model.
Preferred experience with Oracle DBMS and all its associated products to include applications tools, including allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system.
Minimum Education and
Experience:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical degree and 2-4 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience.

C,C++, Linux Training Certification from the American Management Association in Instruction Design for Trainers or Train the Trainer Training Certification from the American society for training and development in the ATD Master Trainer Program or ATS Master Instruction Design OS/CE certificate for Windows, Windows Server, and / or Unix highly desired The International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) desired.
