Strategic Purchasing Specialist

As part of the TQE team, the Strategic Buyer will be responsible for, but not limited to; pro-actively developing, qualifying and managing key suppliers critical to the success of TQE business growth, leading supply chain efforts for new product introduction of modules, sub-assemblies and components. The location of the position is in Jessup, MD. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to: Key supplier purchasing Support and/or lead supplier agreements including blanket order coverage with key suppliers. Cost reduction by negotiating pricing, delivery terms with suppliers Focus on supply chain KPIs / metrics Participate and/or lead new supplier selection process Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports to support production planning and management Mentor purchasing team members, as necessary Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in the supply chain process Ensure 100% data accuracy of purchasing in AX Provide other purchasing support, as necessary Qualifications: US Persons/Green card holders: Ability to work on ITAR related product(s) Experience: Minimum 5 year of purchasing experience in a similar position preferred. Education: BS/BA, (Supply Chain Management preferred). Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Strong sense of ownership Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills and MRP data bases Excellent negotiation skills Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards. Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing priorities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
