Wexford Health has an exceptional opportunity for an CQI Registered Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals at Jessup Correctional Institution in Jessup, MD.
POSITION SUMMARY
The CQI Registered Nurse is responsible for monitoring the nursing department's compliance with all federal and state legislation; accreditation requirements (MCCS, ACA, NCCHC, etc.); Wexford Health policies and procedures; and current contract requirements. The CQI Registered Nurse provides guidance and consultation to leadership on any processes, policies, or practices not in compliance. The incumbent also provides leadership, consultation, and support in the development of a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
JOB RELATIONS
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct supervision from the Director of Nursing and Health Services Administrator
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
RELATIONSHIPS: Inter-relates and works effectively with medical and nursing staff, security staff at all levels, administrative and support staff, regional staff, and corporate staff, as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Works with Director of Nursing and Health Services Administrator to monitor the nursing department's compliance with regulatory and contract requirements, per the statewide CQI program, and is in alignment with program evaluation findings and goals.
2. Completes contract compliance audits and provides reports to supervisory personnel.
3. Provides recommendations to the leadership team and participates in decision-making on action plans, education, outcome studies, and utilization of services as it relates to the CQI process.
4. Works closely with the Regional team and clinical site leadership to maintain CQI standards and measures and to design and implement effective processes and programs to improve quality of care and ensure compliance, including high volume, high risk areas including but not limited to utilization of on-site and off-site specialties.
5. Assists in the development and training of clinical policies/procedures related to ACA, NCCHC, NCQA standards or similar health industry standards.
6. Prepares for and presents at CQI meetings as requested.
7. Monitors Chronic Care and Intake process for compliance with policy and contract requirements.
8. Reviews and audits documentation in the Electronic Patient Health Record for tracking and trending information.
9. Ensures policies and procedures comply with regulatory and contract requirements related to CQI process and outcome monitoring and evaluation of services and program.
10. Collaborates with leadership team to assess performance monitoring and implement improvement plans, and to ensure accountability, feedback loops and monitoring systems. Preforms on-site audits as indicated to ensure ongoing compliance.
11. Collects and analyzes data to identify trends and patterns related to areas of concern.
12. Maintains strong relationships with leadership and nursing staff by to ensure the quality of activities and projects leads to ongoing improvement.
13. Actively participates in monthly and quarterly Service Delivery Area CQI committee meetings.
14. Provides oversight of grievances and complaints for identified trends and improvement strategies.
15. Works closely with Staff Development Coordinator, RN regarding opportunities to improve selected aspects of clinical care and the specific actions needed in order to achieve goals for improvement on selected clinical quality measures.
16. Assist in compiling and completing monthly CQI summary.
17. Facilitates the tracking and compiling of wound data, Infection Control date, and inpatient admissions from facility infirmaries.
18. Provides assistance to sites with audit (NCCHC, ACA, MCCS, Programs, and Quarterly Scorecard assessments)
19. Accepts nursing assignments including assessing, planning, and delivering nursing care to inmates and assisting in minor medical or surgical procedures; passing and administering medications and other medical safety items; conduct screenings; sick calls, etc. whenever necessary.
20. Participates in pertinent professional education to maintain current knowledge of best improvement practices.
21. Complies with Wexford Health's and correctional facility's policies and procedures, including all safety and security regulations.
22. Maintains confidentiality of inmate records and complies with HIPAA and PHI regulations. The duties and responsibilities outlined herein are for payroll purposes only; employees may be assigned other duties as required.

This position may require rotating assignments, operating on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week schedule where employee is subject to both voluntary and mandatory overtime. Employee may be exposed to a challenging environment, which may include exposure to blood borne and airborne pathogens, and loud noises.
Minimum Requirements
LICENSING: Current unrestricted Maryland Registered Nurse license required
CERTIFICATION: Current CPR Certification Quality Improvement Certification, preferred
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required; Master's Degree in Nursing, preferred
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : (3-5) years of quality improvement experience and nursing experience. Correctional experience preferred Fundamental knowledge and skill in utilization of computer applications.
OTHER PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires a comprehensive understanding of performance improvement, quality assessment, risk management, and quality improvement.
Ability to work effectively with physicians and other health care providers as well as with multi-disciplinary teams across the region.
Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills and strong organizational skills
Ability to develop and deliver presentations, and facilitate meetings
Must possess critical thinking skills and ability to independently solve problems and create processes
Must ensure documents are ready for review well in advance of any deadline.
Must be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who is capable of performing under a variety of requirements and deadlines.
Must have basic computer skills (including software programs like Microsoft Word and Excel), as well as the ability to research information on the internet

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
