OverviewThe Director of Supplier Business Development will be responsible for implementing processes and tools that improve the overall quality of supplier business development work and support the pursuit of new suppliers.
Responsibilities to include the prospecting and engagement of new suppliers to ensure a robust portfolio of suppliers and brands.
This role plays a key role in supporting the process development for supplier pursuits - including business diagnostics, plan development and presentation creation.
Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential supplier prospects in the wine and spirits industry.
Actively seek out and engage with new leads to build a strong pipeline of supplier prospects.
Improve the overall quality of supplier business development work and the processes associated with pursuing new suppliers Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to expand the supplier base and enhance the company's product offerings.
Build and maintain relationships with potential suppliers, showcasing our company's value proposition and benefits of partnership.
Conduct thorough assessments of potential suppliers, evaluating their product quality, pricing, distribution capabilities, and alignment with our business objectives.
Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
Actively participate in industry associations and forums, leveraging these connections to identify and establish relationships with potential suppliers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
Foster strong and collaborative partnerships with suppliers, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Continuously monitor supplier performance, conducting periodic reviews and evaluations.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the wine and spirits industry.
Conduct market analysis to identify potential gaps or areas for growth in our supplier portfolio.
Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing business development activities, progress, and outcomes.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
MBA preferred.
Ten or more years related experience, of which at least 5 years to have been spent actively managing supplier relationships.
Travel 50% of the time.
